The Teensy Microcontroller as a Sound Design Tool – Audio Design Tool, MIDI, and I2S

We invite you to a hands-on workshop exploring the Teensy microcontroller as a sound interface.

In this workshop David Kadish will introduce the Teensy platform from a sound and interaction design perspective, focusing on practical workflows for audio input, processing, and control. We will cover the basics of digital audio over I2S, work with the Teensy Audio Design Tool for building audio signal chains, and explore how the Teensy can be used as a USB MIDI device for interfacing with software, instruments, and custom controllers.

The session will combine short presentations with demonstrations, practical examples and some time to experiment with the Teensy and the Teensy Audio Shield, and is intended as an introduction for those interested in using embedded hardware for sound, music, and interactive systems.

The workshop is open to all and hosted in the IOIO Lab (https://ioio.uni.mau.se/)

When: Thursday, March 19th, 12:00 – 14:00

Where: IOIO Lab @ Orkanen, 4th floor

(If you would like to join online, please let us know in advance so we can arrange this.)
